Management of <br />these units is not within the scope of this plan. Nonetheless, it should be noted that the invasive <br />species issues on the property are spreading from the margins of the agricultural land. The ease <br />of access and high visibility makes effective control within reach at this time. An investment <br />now, removing seed producing populations first and moving towards eradication of the invasive <br />trees will go a long way towards protecting the long -term productivity of the entire property. <br />Stand 10 <br />The farm pond, 2.5 acres, is a positive feature on the landscape that should be maintained and <br />protected. Resources are available from NRCS, NC Cooperative Extension, and the NC Wildlife <br />Resources Commission regarding management of farm ponds. <br />30 <br />
