17 <br />Offsite Parking is neither needed nor anticipated for future parking needs at activities beyond <br />normal school hours due to .parking revisions around the existing facility and proposed <br />conditions. All required parking for these events is ekpeted for remain on -site. Parking <br />Counts/ Expectations are: <br />Auditorium 300 seats - 75 spaces vicinity of building. <br />Arts Center 150 seats - 38 spaces vicinity of building. <br />Concurrent events are not anticipated. <br />3.1.9 Sanitary Sewer / Septic System - NCDENR Division of Water Quality has issued and periodically <br />updated Permit No. WQ0004508 for the continued operation of a 3,750 gpd wastewater collection, <br />treatment and 77,850 sf surface irrigation disposal site on campus across New Jericho Road. The <br />wastewater system includes individual septic tanks at each existing building. As new buildings are added <br />in future phases of the master plan, the existing permit shall be updated to include additional waste <br />flows. Additional septic field capacity may be required as the capacity of the existing surface irrigation <br />disposal site is reached. The existing permit is in effect until June 30, 2015 and must be renewed by the <br />school. <br />As each future building in the master plan undergoes construction plan review, NCDENR will review the <br />adequacy of the existing, septic system'to serve that building and will revise /update the permit on file <br />with NCDENR accordingly to include the sewer service load that the building will add to the existing <br />septic system. <br />3.1.10 Potable Water - NCDENR Division of Water Quality issued and has periodically updated. Water <br />System Permit No. NC0368470 for the continued operation of a 23 gallon per minute (16,500 gpd) well <br />on the west side of the Emerson Waldorf campus. This well replaced 2 smaller capacity wells on campus <br />and so is labeled "Well No. 3" on the Water System Permit. In addition to the well, constructed in 2001, <br />the permit lists a 3000 gallon hydro - pneumatic tank, a hypochlorite feed system for lead and copper <br />control, a sodium hydroxide feed for PH control, 1105 If of 2" waterline, 178 If of 1" waterline and 139 If <br />of W waterline to serve the needs of the existing buildings on campus. <br />The Permit references an engineer's report from Diehl and Phillips Engineers, Cary, NC, dated July 5, <br />2001 that contains the following water use projections (based on 10 gpd per students /staff - without <br />showers or cafeteria): <br />5 yr — 260 students / staff growth (2006) — 2600 gpd requirement <br />10 yr — 300 students/ staff growth (2011) — 3000 gpd requirement <br />15 yr — 300 students / staff growth (2016) — 3000 gpd requirement <br />20 yr— 300 students / staff growth (2021) — 3000 gpd requirement <br />The school's current master plan for growth to 2030 includes 350 students and 50 staff for a potable <br />water requirement of 4000 gpd — well below the current well capacity of 16,500 gpd. <br />As each future building in the master plan undergoes construction plan review, NCDENR will review the <br />adequacy of the existing well system to serve that building and will revise /update the permit on file with <br />
