I have served as the Market <br />Manager for the Eno River Farmers Market in Downtown Hillsborough for three years. Prior to <br />this, I ran a booth for two years for a vendor at Western Wake Farmers Market in Cary. As <br />Market Manager, I work closely with Farmer Foodshare, a local organization that helps pair <br />farmers markets with local people living with food insecurity. I understand the needs of <br />consumers AND farmers, the process of farming, and the sales /marketing side of the <br />agricultural industry. <br />I have experience serving on boards. Also, my work as a writer and actor has given me excellent <br />written and verbal communication skills. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />I have a strong interest in local food, farms, farmers, consumer access to foods, food insecurity, <br />and in the growth and wellbeing of Orange County. <br />
