He said an important Board goal this year is the living wage. <br />32 <br />He said it will be included in the wage structure and pay scale. <br />33 <br />Chair McKee said not only doesthe ABC Board’s financial contributions go above state <br />34 <br />requirements but that they continue to increase from year to year. <br />35 <br />Commissioner Rich asked if the living wage was going to be adopted across the state or <br />36 <br />only in certain counties. <br />37 <br />Tony Dubois said the living wage was just adopted as a goal,and specifics are yet to be <br />38 <br />determined. <br />39 <br />Commissioner Rich said she is thrilled to see it being adopted here,andshe <br />40 <br />encouraged theOrange County ABC Board to sharetheir living wage initiative with other ABC <br />41 <br />Boardsthroughout the state. <br />42 <br />Commissioner Dorosin said when heserved as liaison to the ABC Board that he raised <br />43 <br />a question about the $400,000 that has beenreturnedto the general fund for the past several <br />44 <br />years. He said it seemed unclear how this number was chosen.He said he recalled that there <br />45 <br />was no known formula for this amount.He said that theBoard of County Commissioners <br />46 <br />should make a determination as to whether theywant to use a formula; and in addition,that the <br />47 <br />amount contributedback to the county should be increased due to the increase in revenue. He <br />48 <br />said the Statedoes restrict how much money the ABC Board is allowed to keep and any <br />49 <br />remainingfunds must go back to the County or to grant programs.
