7 <br />1 <br />Commissioner Jacobs inquiredabout any landscaping restrictions contained within the <br />2 <br />SUP. <br />3 <br />Roger Walden said there are design guidelines that accompany the SUP and <br />4 <br />specifically outline landscaping for different aspects of the site. <br />5 <br />Ken Redfoot said the Board hasalsocreated additional landscaping guidelines in the <br />6 <br />SUP that go beyond thoserequired by the Town of Chapel Hill. <br />7 <br />Commissioner Jacobs said the Government should lead by example. He said it issmart <br />8 <br />to do zeroscaping. <br />9 <br />Roger Walden said this site is a good opportunity for zeroscaping. He said this also ties <br />10 <br />in with the previously mentioned theme of healthy living. <br />11 <br />Commissioner Rich asked ifsolar panels are being added to the property. <br />12 <br />Ken Redfoot said solar panels are very doable. He said it is centrally located with good vehicular access. He said inside this building <br />35 <br />there is a great deal of redundant space and it is not laid out well. He said the CIP Project will <br />36 <br />address these shortcomings. He said, if approved, the design of this project will begin this year <br />37 <br />with construction beginning in 2016 to 2017. <br />38 <br />David Stancil said the main building is 15,000 square feet and there is also 2,000 <br />39 <br />square foot covered storage. <br />40 <br />Commissioner Jacobs asked if there isany possibility for demonstrationsby either <br />41 <br />artists or others. <br />42 <br />Jeff Thompson said yes. <br />43 <br />Commissioner Price asked ifthe other smaller buildings would remain. <br />44 <br />Jeff Thompson said the current users of the buildings could be relocated elsewhere,and <br />45 <br />the buildings, or the land, could be used for other purposes. <br />46 <br />Chair McKee asked if the redevelopment would be done in two stages. <br />47 <br />Jeff Thompson said it would be a phased process. <br />48 <br />Chair McKee said there is also locked storage in this building. <br />49 <br />Jeff Thompson said the ADA Life Safety project has been insertedin this phase.He <br />50 <br />said most of this will be completed in the next two months. <br /> <br />
