17 <br />22 <br />If there is no objection, the chair may call items in any order <br />convenient for the dispatch of business. The meeting will end at <br />10:30 unless there is a majority vote of the Board to continue <br />beyond that time. <br />(b) Order of Business for Public Hearings <br />1.Opening Remarks from the Chair <br />2.Public Charge <br />3.Public Hearing Items <br />4.Adjournment <br /> A public charge may be read at each meeting <br />(c) Public Charge. <br />to set the tone for civil decorum. The public charge is placed o <br />the agenda immediately after item 1, ÑAdditions or Changes to <br />the AgendaÒ and it shall read: <br />ÑThe Board of Commissioners pledges to the residents of <br />Orange County its respect. The Board asks its residents to <br />conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both <br />with the board and with fellow citizens. At any time should <br />any member of the Board or any resident fail to observe <br />this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending person <br />to leave the meeting until that individual regains personal <br />control. Should decorum fail to be restored, the Chair will <br />recess the meeting until such time that a genuine commit- <br />ment to this public charge is observed. All electronic de- <br />vices such as cell phones, pagers, and computers should <br />please be turned off or set to silent/vibrate.Ò <br />VI.
