Amendment Outline for Airports <br />(UDO /Zoning 2015 -07) <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Michael Harvey Planner III, (919) 245 -2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Planning Director, (919) <br />245 -2585 <br />PURPOSE: To consider and approve process components and schedules for four (4) <br />government initiated Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) text amendments. <br />BACKGROUND: Staff has been completing the preliminary work on several text amendments <br />over the last few months and is seeking final authorization from the BOCC to move forward with <br />their completion and presentation at future Quarterly Public Hearings. These include: <br />1. Revision of existing standards and processes associated with the review and approval of <br />recreational uses (profit and non - profit) including the development of standards <br />governing the development of shooting ranges for private (i.e. personal) and commercial <br />facilities. Please refer to Attachment 1 for more information. <br />2. Adoption of regulations governing the development of sexually oriented businesses. <br />This would include revisions to the County Ordinances establishing business licensing <br />requirements as well. Please refer to Attachment 2 for more information. <br />3. Revision of existing standards governing the display /storage of vehicles at automotive <br />sales centers. Please refer to Attachment 3 for more information <br />4. Revision of existing standards and processes associated with the review and approval of <br />airports. This amendment package will include providing distinctions for private (i.e. <br />personal landing strip) and commercial facilities. Please refer to Attachment 4 for more <br />information. <br />
