Year -To -Date Budget <br />Summary <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Paul Laughton, (919) 245 -2152 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2014- <br />15. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department on Aging <br />1. The Department on Aging has received the following additional revenues: <br />• Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) — receipt of $1,773 from <br />the N.C. Department of Insurance. This is a volunteer driven program that focuses <br />on annual re- enrollment of insurance and helping seniors to better understand <br />their benefits. <br />• In Praise of Age — receipt of $2,500 from the UNC Institute on Aging in support of <br />the In Praise of Age public television show that is produced by the Department on <br />Aging. <br />• Senior Lunch Program — a Town of Hillsborough contribution of $1,300, for <br />program operations, at the Central Orange Senior Center. The department will use <br />the funds for catering services. <br />• Senior Center Instructors — receipt of $18,000 class enrollment fees to pay <br />Senior Center instructors and related class expenses. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated <br />purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br />2. Based on current year and historical collections, the Department on Aging anticipates <br />receiving additional revenue of $15,000 in wellness class fees, which will pay wellness <br />
