s <br />To summary, the immediate next steps that we recommend are the following: <br />1. The establishment of the Heritage Center and the construction of a <br />Southwest library branch. This should be followed as soon as possible by a <br />North/West expansion of the Northern Branch in Cedar Grove and the <br />establishment of a West County Branch in Efland. <br />2. A study of the advantages and disadvantages of a county-wide jointly <br />operated technical support system. Other mechanisms for collaborative <br />activities between the County Zibrary system and the Chapel Hill library <br />should continue to be explored. <br />3. Ongoing reviews of progress toward meeting library facilities <br />recommendations and service standards. <br />Submitted by the Library Services Task Force <br />
