The Board considered identifying three to five (or more) specific items from the entire <br /> package to highlight for priority discussion at the March 23, 2015 meeting with Orange <br /> County's legislative delegation. <br /> Chair McKee reviewed the items added by Commissioner Jacobs and Commissioner <br /> Dorosin. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier suggested prioritization of item #4 regarding Smart Start and <br /> NC Pre-K should be one of the priority items. <br /> Commissioner Price suggested prioritization of item #3 regarding Broadband, and said <br /> this is important for this community. <br /> Commissioner porosin suggested prioritization of item #21 to raise the age of juvenile <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> Commissioner Burroughs suggested prioritization of item #27, which includes the three <br /> issues identified by OCS items. She also suggested prioritization of item #10 regarding <br /> childcare. <br /> Commissioner Rich suggested prioritization of item # 24 regarding the expansion of <br /> Medicaid. She said this does not have to be a long discussion, but it is worth mentioning. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs supports the prioritization of item #11 regarding land, water and <br /> agricultural preservation funding. <br /> Commissioner Price suggested prioritization of item #8, regarding E-911 funds and #9 <br /> regarding Mental Health. <br /> Chair McKee noted that nine items have been suggested. <br /> Commissioner porosin suggested, if nine priorities are going to be kept, it would be <br /> good to group them into categories or themes. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding this proposal, and it was suggested that Greg Wilder <br /> could help with grouping these items. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner porosin, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier to <br /> highlight these items for priority discussion at the March 23, 2015 meeting with Orange <br /> County's legislative delegation. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 6.
