This property <br />was acquired from Duke University and straddles the Durham-Orange county line. The 11-acre <br />portion in Orange County will be deeded to Orange County. Durham County and the Town of <br />Chapel Hill will also own portions of the land. <br />This land is part of a larger 72-acre area that connects Duke Forest and Erwin Road to open <br />space in Durham County. A master plan for a portion of the site -which includes the 43 acres <br />acquired on April 8 - is currently underway. <br />As part of the April 8 event, artwork depicting a scene along New Hope Creek was displayed. <br />The artwork will be displayed as part of this presentation. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this presentation. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the presentation. <br />
