RB5083 187 18119
2) Water supply watershed: It is a primary purpose of the Easement to protect the
undeveloped nature of the property and the water that flows from this property to the
Eno River. The Easement Area is within a zone designated by Orange County as a
"critical area' of the Upper Eno Watershed —a protected water supply watershed for the
Corporation Lake and Lake Ben Johnson reservoirs. Conserving the undeveloped nature
of the Easement Area will protect the high quality of that drinking water supply serving
the people of Orange County.
The land's natural and wildlife habitat and its contribution to the protection of the
downstream public water supply, as well as the open space and rural character of Cheeks
Township, are referred to collectively as the "Conservation Values" of the Easement Area.
Easement Summary
It is the purpose of this Conservation Easement to a) ensure that the Easement Area will be
retained forever in its natural, forested, and open space condition; b) protect native plants
and animals in the Easement Area, while allowing certain low- impact uses that are
compatible with and not destructive of the conservation values of the Easement Area; and c)
prevent any use of the Easement Area that will impair or interfere with the conservation
values or interests of the Easement Area.
The Easement Area consists of one tax parcel.
