36 <br />JPS -2: Seek legislation to reimburse counties for participat- <br />ing in the Statewide Misdemeanant Confinement Program at <br />the rate of $75 per day. <br />• Currently, counties are reimbursed at a rate of $40 per day <br />for those inmates who are housed in county jail facilities pur- <br />suant to the SMCP. <br />• The actual cost to counties for the care, supervision, trans- <br />portation and other needs associated with housing these in- <br />mates is approximately $75 per day. <br />JPS -3: Support state funding for gang prevention, adoles- <br />cent substance abuse and domestic violence prevention, in- <br />tervention and treatment. <br />
