JOAF <br /> RES-2015-017 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ORANGE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TITLE VI <br /> PLAN/PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. Section 2000d et seq. and <br /> 23 C.F.R. part 21, the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration <br /> (FTA) prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange Public Transportation (OPT) operates a public transportation service including <br /> bus and paratransit services; and <br /> WHEREAS, OPT receives FTA funding through the North Carolina Department of Transportation and <br /> will be applying to receive FTA funding directly to operate public transportation services and is, <br /> therefore, required to demonstrate compliance with such federal laws and regulations by submitting a <br /> Title VI program update once every three years; and <br /> WHEREAS, OPT seeks to ensure that the level and quality of public transportation service is provided <br /> in a nondiscriminatory manner; and <br /> WHEREAS, OPT seeks to promote full and fair participation in public transportation decision-making <br /> without regard to race, color or national origin; and <br /> WHEREAS, OPT seeks to ensure meaningful access to transit-related programs and activities by <br /> persons with limited English proficiency; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to federal laws and regulations, the OPT Title VI Plan/Program must be <br /> considered and approved by the governing body of OPT, the Board of County Commissioners; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of Commissioners that the <br /> Board approves and adopts the 2015 Orange Public Transportation Title VI Plan/Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners authorizes the <br /> Orange County Transportation Planner to submit the 2015 Orange Public Transportation Title VI <br /> Plan/Program to the North Carolina D partment of Transportation and Federal Transit Administration. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner , seconded by Commissioner <br /> the foregoing resolution was adop t is the 17t day of March, 2015. <br /> I, Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange, North Carolina, DO <br /> HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a true copy of so much of the proceedings of said Board at a <br /> meeting held on March 17, 2015, as relates in any way to the adoption of the foregoing and that said <br /> proceedings are recorded in the minutes of said Board. <br /> WITNESS my hand and the seal of said County, this day of 15. <br /> s <br /> Clerk tb the Board of C mmissioners 17 #, 52 <br /> Ortfj Cato` <br />
