He noted the tremendous economic impact the development of arts has <br /> provided to the County. He thanked the Board for their support. <br /> Arts Commissioner Director Martha Shannon reviewed the history of the creation of the <br /> Arts Commission. She said the total state grassroots allocation from 1985 through the present <br /> time is $695,048, and $78,394 in state funds was retained by the Arts Commission to fund the <br /> arts programming.
