M <br />Objective T -2.4: Improve the provision of public transit facilities and services; <br />Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element Goal 3: Integrated land use <br />planning and transportation planning that serves existing development, supports <br />future development, and is consistent with the County's land use plans which <br />include provisions for preserving the natural environment and community <br />character; and Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element Goal 4: A <br />countywide and regionally- integrated, multi -modal transportation planning <br />process that is comprehensive, creative and effective. <br />Additionally, Accomplishment 5 (review of the Safe Routes to School Action Plan <br />implementation activities) relates to Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element <br />Goal 1: An efficient and integrated multi -modal transportation system and that <br />protects the natural environment and community character, Objective T -1.1 <br />(...expand the use of ...walking and biking as primary modes of travel); <br />Comprehensive Transportation Element Goal 2: A multi -modal transportation <br />system that is affordable and accessible to all users and that promotes public <br />health and safety, Objective T -2.1: Increase the provision of bikeways and <br />walkways, and also increase supportive facilities such as bicycle parking zones, <br />Objective T -2.6: Increase safety awareness between car drivers and bicycle <br />riders, and increase safety for pedestrians), and Objective T -2.7: Construct <br />bicycle facilities in Orange County that will make cycling safer, more convenient, <br />and more efficient; and Comprehensive Transportation Element Goal 4: A <br />countywide and regionally- integrated, multi -modal transportation planning <br />process that is comprehensive, creative and effective, and Objective T -4.1: Work <br />with nearby jurisdictions to integrate the County's transportation plans with those <br />of other transportation planning agencies and service providers in Orange <br />County and the Triangle region. <br />Accomplishment 6: Review and recommendation of private road and access <br />standards from the Unified Development Ordinance relates to Comprehensive <br />Plan Transportation Element Goal 3: Integrated land use planning and <br />transportation planning that serves existing development, supports future <br />development, and is consistent with the County's land use plans which include <br />provisions for preserving the natural environment and community character, <br />Objective T -3.3: Determine the policies to guide connectivity within and between <br />residential developments based on their impact on neighborhood character; and <br />Comprehensive Plan Transportation Element Goal 2: A multi -modal <br />transportation system that is affordable, available, and accessible to all users and <br />that promotes public health and safety, Objective T -2.3: Increase countywide <br />access for emergency vehicles, including ways to improve response times, both <br />for existing and new developments. <br />Accomplishment 14: Attendance by several OUTBoard members at the public <br />outreach meetings for the OCBRIP bus planning relates to Comprehensive Plan <br />Transportation Element Goal 2: A multi -modal transportation system that is <br />affordable, available, and accessible to all users and that promotes public health <br />and safety, Objective T -2.5: Improve public education and advertising of existing <br />transit services. <br />
