If applicable, is there a fiscal <br />impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other resources) associated with these proposed <br />activities (please list). <br />1. Participate in on -going discussions regarding the best way to address issues of <br />gender equity including women and transgender persons. This work will be done in <br />collaboration with organizations that focus on women's issues and transgender <br />equality; <br />2. Work in collaboration with the Town of Chapel Hill's Justice in Action Committee on <br />matters of social justice. The mission of Justice in Action is to adequately and <br />effectively reflect the Town of Chapel Hill's integrity and commitment to preserving <br />racial, economic, and social justice within the community; <br />3. Initiate the implementation of the Social Justice Goal Impact Review Tool; <br />4. Engage the migrant community in the system of governance for Orange County; and <br />5. Participate in activities and events in Orange County that celebrate the birthday of <br />Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. <br />What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br />upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the Commissioners' <br />attention? <br />1. Acknowledgement of the 95th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. <br />Constitution granting women the right to vote with planned activities throughout the <br />year; <br />2. Ensuring that the membership of the HRC reflects racial, cultural and gender <br />diversity; <br />3. Including the Social Justice Goal Impact Review Tool in the governing body's <br />decision - making process; and <br />4. Continuing efforts to affirmatively further fair housing through community outreach. <br />
