71 <br />4) Assist with and provide advice to Orange County's small business loan program. <br />5) Assist the Economic Development department with the development of new <br />marketing materials, ad campaigns and effective media, and general "branding" efforts <br />that promote business recruitment to Orange County. <br />6) Help advise the Economic Development department, Manager's Office and BOCC on <br />appropriate levels of financial incentives for a variety of potential recruitment projects. <br />7) Become more involved with the County's agriculture economic development & <br />business retention efforts. <br />What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br />upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the Commissioners' <br />attention? <br />1) Increasing the tax base and high -tech employment opportunities in Orange County <br />by growing new and existing businesses within the county. <br />2) Improving the County's communication plan related to the importance of economic <br />development; <br />3) Streamlining the review and permitting processes for new development to change the <br />perception that Orange County is anti - business. <br />
