35 <br />agricultural boards. <br />Describe this board /commission's activities /accomplishments in carrying out <br />BOCC goal(s) /priorities, if applicable. <br />The APB promotes and reviews and recommends new Voluntary <br />Agricultural Districts that help protect farmland (Comp Plan, Natural and <br />Cultural Systems Goal 2). <br />The Board oversaw the creation of a long -term plan for agricultural <br />development and farmland protection, and is working to implement the <br />provisions of that plan. (Goal 2, Goal 5). <br />The APB stays abreast of emerging trends in agriculture, and advises the <br />Board of Commissioners of new issues or concerns — such as Agricultural <br />Support Enterprises (Goal 5) <br />The APB makes recommendations on goals and objectives for the triennial <br />Lands Legacy Action Plan (Goal 8). <br />If your board /commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory Board <br />involved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, please indicate <br />your board's activities /accomplishments as they may relate to the <br />Comprehensive Plan's goals or objectives. <br />(The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, OUTBoard, <br />Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, Agricultural <br />Preservation Board, Affordable Housing Board, Parks and Recreation Council) <br />The APB has continued to advocate for the Agricultural Support <br />Enterprises project, to help promote agricultural economic development <br />and agricultural entrepreneurialism (Goal 2, Objective AG -1). <br />The APB promotes, reviews, and recommends Voluntary Agricultural <br />Districts and Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural Districts (Goal 2 Objective <br />AG -1, Goal 8 Objective AG -9). <br />The APB promotes efforts to increase purchase and consumption of local <br />foods (Goal 2, Objective AG -3; Goal 3, Objective AG -7). <br />Identify any activities this board /commission expects to carry out in 2015 as they <br />relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br />If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other resources) <br />associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br />
