This Board appointment would enable <br />me to do so and would make good use of my background and experience. I am currently employed as an Adjunct Instructor (college <br />level) and as a Substitute teacher (Orange County Public Schools). I served on the Board <br />of Equalization and Review last year as a Alternate. The experience inspired me to apply <br />for a Board position this year. UPDATE 01/17/2012: Adjunct Faculty, American Public <br />University System (2011- 2012); Expert Consultant to the United States Department of <br />Justice (2005); Attorney, United States Department of Justice (1978- 2005); Adjunct <br />Instructor of Law (2007); Substitute Teacher (2006- 2012); Visiting Instructor of Law (1977- <br />1978) <br />Volunteer Experience: Church religious education program; girl scout leader; PTA, school <br />community organizations. Orange County Board of Equalization and Review (alternate <br />Member spring 2010); Orange Congregations in Mission ( Samaritan Relief and Intake <br />volunteer 2009 - 2010); Safe Environment Team member and religious Education Teacher, <br />Holy Family Catholic Church 2009 -2010; Birthchoice (Receptionist 2010; Home Owners <br />Association Board member (2005- 2010); Girl Scout leader and trainer (1995- 2005). lam <br />on the Board of Directors of Orange Congregations in Mission; I teach religious education <br />at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillsborough. I have served on the Boards of Directors <br />of several homeowners' associations, including the Tree Farm HOA in Hillsborough. Two of my areas of <br />specialty were complex white collar crime and health care systems. As a result, I have <br />extensive experience in business, corporate, and other financial matters. I have <br />experience as a Member of the Board of Equalization and Review and I have the ability to <br />commit to the Boards's meeting schedule.
