CA lei <br />Section II <br />Chapel Hill /Carrboro School District <br />Elementary <br />The previous year (2013 -14) projections for November 2014 at this level were overestimated by <br />94 students. The actual membership decreased by 13 students. Over the previous ten years, this <br />level has shown varying increases in growth rates including a decrease in actual membership in <br />2009 -10 which was most likely due to the shorter enrollment period caused by the institution of <br />the new date requiring kindergarteners to be five years old. Following that dip, membership <br />numbers experienced an increase each year with a significant jump (168 students) in 2011 -12 <br />before experiencing a decrease this year. Growth rates during the past ten years have ranged <br />from -1.57% to +3.92 %. The projections this year are showing the need for Elementary School <br />412 in 2023 -24, this is three years later than last year's projections. <br />Although not included in SAPFO school capacity or membership numbers, Pre -K programs <br />continue to impact operations at District elementary schools where Pre -K programs exist. <br />Specific impacts of Pre -K programs at the elementary school level will continue to be reviewed <br />and discussed in the coming year. <br />Middle <br />The previous year (2013 -14) projections for November 2014 for this level were overestimated by <br />64 students. The actual membership increased by 3. Over the previous ten years, growth has been <br />quite variable and included a decrease in actual membership in 2004 -05. Following this <br />decrease, membership and growth rates have experienced increases every school year since. <br />Growth rates during this time period have ranged from -1.99% to +2.86. The addition to <br />Culbreth Middle School opened for the 2014 -15 school year with a capacity of 104 seats. The <br />projections this year are showing that Chapel Hill /Carrboro Middle School 45 is projected to be <br />needed in 2023 -24. This is three years later than last year's projections. <br />High School <br />The previous year (2013 -14) projections for November 2014 for this level were overestimated by <br />75 students. The actual membership decreased by 34 students. Over the previous ten years, <br />change has been variable with decreases in membership in 2008 -09 and in 2009 -10. Following <br />31 <br />
