Draft School Districts Local Current Expense Fund Balance Policy <br />The Board of County Commissioners has been interested in formalizing C}range <br />County's School Districts Local Current Expense Fund Balance Policy. Members <br />of the School Collaboration Work Group at their March 31, 2008 meeting reviewed <br />a draft policy. During that discussion, work group members expressed concerns <br />regarding the policy and referred the policy to County and school staffs for further <br />review. Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools Site Selection Report <br />Can April 17, 2008, the Chapel Hill Carrboro Board of Education received a Site <br />Selection Report from the Long Range Facilities Committee. Elementary #11 and Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance (SAPFO} <br />In answer to questions about Chapel Hill Carrboro Gity Schools timeline for <br />Elementary #11 posed by the Board of County Commissioners, Dr. Neil Pedersen <br />has provided a memorandum outlining a construction schedule and its impact on <br />SAPFO and CAPS. <br />Attachment c -Chapel Nill Carrboro Gity Schools Memorandum Re: <br />Elementary #11 and Schools Adequate Public Facilities <br />(SAPFO} <br />d. Update Land Transfer Tax Education Initiative <br />The attached memorandum from Rod Visser, Project Manager for the County's <br />Land Transfer Tax Education Initiative provides an update on activities-to-date and <br />planned activities related to the upcoming May 6, 2008 referendum. <br />Attachment d -Update -Land Transfer Tax Education Initiative <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are either identified in the individual items listed above <br />and or will be covered in discussions during tonight's meeting. Decisions that the school board <br />and Commissioners will make at subsequent meetings are likely to have significant implications <br />for future capital and operating budgets. <br />RECOMMENDATION {S): The Manager recommends that the boards discuss the issues noted <br />and provide direction to staff, as appropriate. <br />
