I have worked all over NC and currently at Duke Hospital for the past 12 years. I also do <br />free lance work with a private surgeon in Chapel Hill. I am Masters prepared with continuous <br />participation in educational workshops every year approximately 30 -40 hours per year. I teach a <br />class at the Duke School of Nursing. I function as a Preceptor for Nurses training to become <br />Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. In the long session of the GA 2013, 1 lobbied heavily to <br />defeat HB 181. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />My reason for seeking out the At Large position with the Board of Health, is to provide the <br />Board with my healthcare expertise and be a fair representative of the residents of Orange <br />County. Children and the elderly, are just 2 populations at risk of not receiving adequate basic <br />healthcare and with the changes that have occurred with Medicaid and Medicare it is important <br />
