16 <br />Page 2 of 2 Lori Shapiro <br />Previously I worked for almost 30 years as a Master's level Social Worker. <br />Volunteer Experience: Held volunteer position on Orange County Adult Home Care <br />Advisory Committee for five years (1995- 2000); concurrently held volunteer position for <br />same five years on the Advisory Committee of Retired Senior Volunteer Program through <br />the Orange County Department on Aging. Have been extremely active volunteer in <br />numerous capacities for local bicycling club and previously for very large bicyling club in <br />the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Have been Volunteer Coordinator for multiple <br />projects and activities. Held position as chair and vice -chair for several years on <br />neighborhood association; recognized for natural leadership skills and creative ideas. <br />Praised for strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. For approximately five <br />years I was on the Orange County Domiciliary Care Advisory Committee and the Advisory <br />Committee to the RSVP Program of the Orange County Department on Aging. <br />Education: Recently completed seven courses, including a 16 week internship in Animal <br />Care and Management at Alamance Community College; internship involved hands -on <br />care at a multi - service AAHA- accredited animal care facility (services included veterinary <br />hospital, gromming, and kennel); course work covered basic animal health care, zoonoses <br />and Red Cross Certification. Have Masters Degree in Social Work and on -going <br />continuous training to maintain license as certifed clinical social worker. <br />Other Comments: <br />Dedicated and passionate advocate of animal rescue and adoption services; adopted my <br />own dog from CARE (Chatham Animal Rescue and Education). Participated in a <br />Advanced Puppy Obedience Course at the Animal Protection Society on Nick's Road in <br />Mebane. Posses natural capacity towards motivating others, conducting successful public <br />relations and promotional activites.
