~a <br />MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (CIS-OC) <br />The Middle School After School program provides positive educational, social, and <br />recreational activities for middle school students during after school hours. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $70,000 2008-2009 Request: $70,000 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of 70,000 to provide serves to Orange <br />County middle school students during after school hours. <br />ORANGE COUNTY PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUNG CHILDREN <br />The Orange County Partnership for Young Children promotes young children's healthy <br />development and school readiness by planning and funding a variety of programs that <br />address the critical issues facing young children and their families. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: N/A 2008-2009 Request: $5,000 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends $5,000 to address the critical issues facing <br />young children and families that adversely affect a child's school readiness. <br />OE ENTERPRISES <br />The mission of Orange Enterprises is to maximize vocational potential from the <br />beginning of work until retirement for persons who have employment barriers. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $73,175 2008-2009 Request: $63,175 <br />Recommendation: Funding of $63,175 to assist people who face employment barriers <br />to achieve vocational potential. <br />ORANGE COMMUNITY HOUSING AND LAND TRUST <br />Orange Community Housing and Land Trust. (the Land Trust) focuses on providing <br />affordable housing, which remains affordable forever, to families earning less than 80 <br />percent of the area median income. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $149,000 2008-2009 Request: $200,000 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $179,000 this year to provide <br />permanently affordable homes, and land, for the benefit of Orange County citizens. <br />ORANGE CONGREGATIONS IN MISSION <br />This agency provides services to economically-challenged and homebound northern <br />Orange County residents through volunteer efforts of diverse congregations and <br />individuals. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $30,600 2008-2009 Request: $35,600 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $35,600 this year to meet the <br />emergency needs of those who find themselves in a crisis situation. <br />2008-09 HSAC Outside Agency Recommendations 8 <br />
