IV <br />FREEDOM HOUSE <br />Freedom House provides extended care, transitional living, and outpatient services to <br />promote recovery from the disease of addiction and co-occurring mental illness. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $24,000 2008-2009 Request: $26,000 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $26,000 for day-to-day residential <br />programming needs for substance abuse treatment services for Orange County <br />residents. <br />HABITAT FOR HUMANITY <br />Habitat for Humanity of Orange County constructs simple, but well-built, energy-efficient <br />homes using volunteer labor and homeowners' sweat equity that are then sold to <br />qualifying families at affordable prices using zero interest mortgages. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $15,000 2008-2009 Request: $20,000 <br />Recommendation: Funding of $20,000 is recommended for Habitat .for Humanity to <br />serve Orange County residents. <br />HILLSBOROUGH YOUTH ATHETIC ASSOCIATION (HYAA) <br />Hillsborough Youth Athletic Association provides youth baseball programs for Orange <br />County children, ages 5 through 17, in a supervised and structured environment. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $23,625 2008-2009 Request: $23,625 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $10,000 for HYAA's services to <br />Orange County residents. <br />HISTORIC HILLSBOROUGH COMMISSION/BURWELL SCHOOL <br />The Commission's mission is to maintain and preserve the Burwell School Historic Site; <br />to interpret the history of 19th century Hillsborough for the enrichment of the public; and <br />to celebrate and promote the culture and heritage of Hillsborough and Orange County. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $9,000 2008-2009 Request: $9,000 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $9,000 to promote Orange County's <br />culture and heritage to citizens. <br />HISTORIC FOUNDATION OF HILLSBOROUGH AND ORANGE COUNTY <br />The Orange County Historical Museum conserves and interprets the economic, political, <br />social, and cultural history of Orange County for the benefit of all. <br />2007-2008 Allocation: $5,000 2008-2009 Request: $5,500 <br />Recommendation: HSAC recommends funding of $5,500 to promote and preserve the <br />cultural history of Orange County. <br />2008-09 HSAC Outside Agency Recommendations 6 <br />
