2 <br />An analysis was conducted by staff to determine the number of properties affected by the <br />insurance district expansion. There are 53 properties that are currently outside of the insurance <br />district and will be added to the East Alamance Fire Insurance District. The addition of Mebane <br />Fire Department Station 3 allows for all properties in the East Alamance Fire District to be in the <br />rated insurance district. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The approval of this item has no financial impact on the County. This is <br />an administrative action only and no changes in fire tax rates will be reflected by Board <br />approval. Upon approval property owners within six road miles of a fire station in the expanded <br />area will be eligible for lower fire insurance premiums. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br />East Alamance Fire Insurance District Map for insurance purposes only. <br />
