<br />~-J~ ~ 1J 1~'11`.~'.1LLR ~ C~.I.r.~l~l 1 <br />P®R STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-8 WSO PARTICIPATE IN <br />ESL PROGRAMS <br />Dates: June 23 -July 3, 2008 <br />Time: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Daily <br />Location: New Hope Elementary School <br />Transportation: Provided <br />Breakfast & Lunch: Provided <br />Costs: .None <br />Students who are eligible to attend are those who have participated in the Orange County Schools <br />ESL Program in grades 3-8. Teachers will provide instruction around a theme and small class <br />size will enable teachers to provide focused and intensive instruction in reading and writing. <br />Students who are eligible to attend will receive information from their ESL Program teacher. <br />More information may be obtained by contacting Wanda Rittenhouse, ESL Program <br />Specialist, at 732-3622, Ext. 41907. <br />EX7CEND.ED SC~Yt~CDL YEAR, PRC)GRAIl~[ <br />• ~®~. <br />STITDEN~7CS WIT~I DI~.A~II..I'TIES <br />The program provides instructional and/or related services to eligible exceptional <br />students beyond the traditional 1$0-day school year to prevent significant regression <br />caused by•breaks in structured academic programming. Services are based on critical <br />short-term objectives as specified in the student°s Individual Education Plan. <br />The amount and location of services are to be determined by the IEP team in April of <br />each year. When appropriate, the student will receive his/her program within the time <br />frame of the regular summer school. However, since ESY is NOT summer school, the <br />program may be provided at a different time and in a different setting as determined by <br />the district. • <br />Parents will be contacted by Exceptional Children Program Personnel with details of the <br />service delivery. <br />Special Information: Transportation will be provided. <br />Fees: There is no fee for eligible students. <br />
