21 <br /> 1 <br /> Award amount is as follows: <br /> Performance Rating Performance Award <br /> Unsatisfactory None <br /> Needs Improvement None <br /> Effective None <br /> Highly Effective $400 or 1% of annual <br /> salary, whichever is <br /> larger <br /> Outstanding Achievement $800 or 2% of annual <br /> salary, whichever is <br /> larger <br /> 8.3.2 A Performance Award is a one-time lump sum <br /> payment which does not become a part of annual <br /> salary. <br /> 8.3.3 Any Performance Award is subject to required <br /> statutory deductions, including federal and <br /> state income tax withholding, social security <br /> and retirement. <br /> 8.4 Effective Date <br /> Any Performance Award is effective as provided in <br /> Item 7.4 and 7.5 of this article. <br /> 8.5 Process <br /> The department head reviews each performance review <br /> under WPPR and recommends to the County Manager the <br /> employees to receive a Performance Award. The WPPR <br /> Evaluation form and the completed work plan are <br /> submitted along with the Performance Award <br /> recommendation to the Personnel Department and become a <br /> part of the employee' s personnel file. <br /> Any Performance Award at the Outstanding Achievement <br /> level requires the advance approval of the County <br /> Manager, upon written recommendation of the department <br /> head. <br /> Article V, Sections 8.0 through 17.0 will be renumbered to reflect <br /> the addition of a new Item 7.0 to the Article. <br />
