Housing and Community Development/Section 8 <br /> At their March 15, 1994 meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved a program agreement accepting a <br /> Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $250,000 for the public facilities improvements <br /> associated with Magnolia Place. This subdivision is being developed by a joint venture of Orange County <br /> Community Housing Corporation and Development Resources, Inc. to provide homeownership opportunities for <br /> first-time homebuyers. The attached grant project ordinance for Community Development -Magnolia Place <br /> includes $40,000 for waste facilities, $63,500 for street improvements, $22,750 for storm sewer, $69,800 for <br /> street improvements, $51,000 for water improvements and $2,950 for administration. <br /> The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved $51,158 in additional funds for the <br /> Section 8 Voucher Program. The attached grant project ordinance for Section 8 Block Grant Program includes <br /> $47,607 for rental assistance and $3,551 for administrative operating costs. <br /> Recommendation <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the proposed budget ordinance <br /> amendment and proposed grant project ordinances. <br />
