C <br /> r 2 <br /> 0 <br /> Public Hearing Comments <br /> Citizen comments both for and against the proposed <br /> amendment were received at the Public Hearing on February <br /> 28, 1994 . <br /> The Orange Water and Sewer Authority were opposed to the <br /> Crelaxation of any watershed protection standard, <br /> t particularly when applied to the Cane Creek Watershed. <br /> Several citizens also spoke in favor of the amendment <br /> because a number of existing lots, particularly those <br /> surrounding Lake Orange, are rendered unbuildable by the <br /> setback requirements. <br /> a The Staff response to key questions and issues raised at <br /> the public hearing is attached. The Planning Staff <br /> recommends approval of the amendment on the basis that it <br /> allows for a more expedient and efficient process for <br /> addressing as many as 70 situations which would now <br /> require action by the Board of Adjustment. <br /> r Planning Board Recommendation <br /> r <br /> The Planning Board considered the proposed amendment on <br /> April 18, 1994, and, after considerable discussion, <br /> recommended approval by a vote of seven to two.
