Zq <br /> Proposed amendments were provided to the Ordinance <br /> Review Committee for review/discussion on March 29, <br /> 1994. Subsequent to that meeting, the report of the <br /> Ordinance Review Committee was presented to the <br /> Planning Board at its April 12 meeting. <br /> Since the April 12 Planning Board meeting, the <br /> proposals have been drafted in standard "amendment" <br /> format. Sections of the Land Use Element and/or <br /> Zoning Ordinance which were not proposed for change <br /> have been eliminated as have amendments related to <br /> the proposed I-40/Old NC 86 District. The <br /> Commissioners are to establish a process to address <br /> concerns related to that proposal. <br /> The Planning Staff recommends that the proposals of <br /> the Ordinance Review Committee be recommended to the <br /> Board of Commissioners for presentation at the <br /> quarterly public hearing on May 23, 1994. <br /> Collins distributed information to the Planning <br /> Board on a list of questions presented to him by <br /> Board member Brown. (That information is an <br /> attachment to these minutes on pages . ) Collins <br /> also reviewed the changes/options requested by <br /> Commissioner Gordon and those proposed by the <br /> Ordinance Review Committee. (That information is <br /> also an attachment to these minutes on pages . ) <br /> MOTION: Jobsis moved that the recommendations of the <br /> Ordinance Review Committee be presented for public <br /> hearing on May 23, 1994. Seconded by Barrows. <br /> VOTE: 8 in favor. <br /> 1 opposed (Brown - would like to see all of the <br /> options presented at public hearing for the specific <br /> reasons that Commissioners Gordon and Insko pointed <br /> out that this is a significant change in policy. <br /> She noted she would also like the recommendations <br /> for the cost benefit analysis, water and sewer and <br /> transportation criteria be included. <br /> b. Proposed Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment <br /> ( 1) Article 20.6 - Public Hearing Notice <br /> Presentation by Mary Willis. <br /> Willis noted that this amendment will allow for <br /> mass mailings to be advertised in the newspapers <br /> with a map as opposed to large mailings of <br /> individual notices. This does reflect the State <br /> legislation. <br />
