Howes,, Secretary <br /> January 6, 1994 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Local Health Directors <br /> ORANGE <br /> County or District <br /> FROM: Kevin Ryan, MD, MPH <br /> Chief, Women's Health Section <br /> SUBJEC'I: One-Time Funds For Women's Health Services <br /> The Division of Maternal and Child Health recently identified approximately $555,000 in <br /> one-time MCH Block Grant carry-forward funds which are available to local providers as <br /> targeted block grant funding to support maternity and women's preventive health services. <br /> The Women's Health Section has calculated each agency's share in this funding according <br /> to the equity funding formula developed by the Equity Funds Task Force. Your agency's <br /> share of this one-time funding is $ 11 ,510 These funds must be expended by June 30, <br /> 1994 and are being distributed for the following targeted purposes: <br /> Purchase of contraceptives. <br /> Support for dig&osis M-treatment of abnormal pap smears. <br /> Support for sterilization. <br /> Support for patient incentives to increase participation in maternal health and <br /> women's preventive health services. <br /> Support for activities designed to increase WPH caseload. <br /> Support for patient transportation. <br /> P.O.
