The requested <br /> amendments remain relatively unchanged from those presented in 1991 <br /> with one important distinction; the relocation of the existing <br /> asphalt plant proposed at that time is no longer part of the <br /> application. The applicants have submitted a letter to this effect <br /> dated March 17, 1994. Under the terms of an agreement with the <br /> Orange Water and Sewer Authority, the existing asphalt plant will <br /> be allowed to remain in operation until May 2000 after which time <br /> its use will permanently cease. <br /> GENERAL DESCRIPTION <br /> The property in question is located in Chapel Hill and Bingham <br /> Townships along the northern side of NC 54, both east and west of <br /> its intersection with Bethel-Hickory Grove Church Road. The total <br /> proposal consists of 207.64 acres. <br /> The subject area contains five individual properties identified in <br /> the following table. The format for property identification is <br /> TOWNSHIP.TAX MAP.BLOCK.LOT (". ." signifies no block designation) . <br /> Township codes are 6 for Bingham and 7 for Chapel Hill. <br /> 1 <br />
