Fikes <br /> Results of Bid Opening <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To award three housing rehabilitation contracts for the <br /> HOME Housing Rehabilitation Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited <br /> bids from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors <br /> participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program. Sealed bids were received from participating <br /> contractors on January 27 and February 17, 1994 and opened <br /> on the same day. Bid results are attached. <br /> Present program procedures provide that housing <br /> rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder. However, the lowest bidder for <br /> Dwelling #23 has declined this job since he has received <br /> three contract awards in recent months. Therefore, the <br /> second lowest bidder, Orange Chatham Home Repair is <br /> recommended for contract award. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> The Manager recommends awarding the following three rehabilitation <br /> contracts: <br /> Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br /> #8 $ 20,700 Taylor Home Imp <br /> #17 $ 8,450 Edwards Const.
