Price, Jr., Director <br /> March 21, 1994 <br /> Mr. Marvin Collins, Planning Director <br /> Orange County <br /> 306F Revere Road <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Re: Orange County Preservation Plan <br /> Grant Amount: 10,000 <br /> Dear Mr. Collins: <br /> We are pleased to inform you that your application for a 1994 <br /> Certified Local Government (CLG) grant is one of thirteen <br /> selected for funding from among twenty-three proposals. Grant <br /> funds are made available to the State Historic Preservation <br /> Office, Division of Archives and History, from the Historic <br /> Preservation Fund (HPF) administered by the U. S. Department of <br /> the Interior, National Park Service. <br /> This year approximately $72, 000 will be awarded to county and <br /> municipal governments participating in the CLG program. Funding <br /> is targeted for archaeology, restoration, architectural survey, <br /> preservation planning, and nominations to the National Register <br /> of Historic Places. <br /> The enclosed Grant Project Outline, based on your grant <br /> application, will provide a brief summary of anticipated <br /> activities and costs related to your project. To convey your <br /> acceptance of the grant, with its related conditions, please sign <br /> both copies of the enclosed Subgrant Agreement and the <br /> certification of Matching Share Form and return them by April 30, <br /> 1994 to: Lloyd D. Childers, grants administrator, State Historic <br /> Preservation Office, Division of Archives and History, 109 East <br /> Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601-2807. Ms. Childers may be <br /> contacted by telephone at 919/733-4763. <br /> Enclosed with this letter is an "Introduction to Subgrantee <br /> Requirements" memorandum from Ms. Childers, along with a Grantee <br /> Handbook and information about a Grants Workshop to be held in <br /> Raleigh on Tuesday, June 7. During that meeting, Deputy <br /> Secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources, Elizabeth <br /> Buford, will present Grant Award Certificates.
