3 <br /> Attachment II <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, The North Carolina Association of County <br /> Commissioners and the National Association of <br /> County Commissioners have encouraged citizens <br /> across the state and the nation to learn more <br /> about county government' s role in our lives ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County government has served the <br /> citizens of the County since 1752 and places <br /> its emphasis on addressing citizens concerns <br /> and needs; and <br /> WHEREAS, The elected and appointed officials of Orange <br /> County take pride in serving the citizens in <br /> the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County is on the forefront of many <br /> issues critical to both our state and nation , <br /> including health care, child and elder care , <br /> environmental protection, social services , <br /> Job training, emergency management services , <br /> drug and alcohol abuse treatment, law <br /> enforcement, water and sewer services, and <br /> library services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Citizens may develop an increased awareness <br /> about county services and resources through <br /> outreach efforts provided by County <br /> Officials. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, We, the ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br /> do hereby proclaim the week of April 16-23, <br /> 1994 as Orange County Government Week, and <br /> further encourage all citizens to become <br /> familiar with the services provided by Orange <br /> County government. <br /> This the 4th day of April , 1994 . <br /> By: <br /> Moses Carey, Jr . , Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
