20 <br />a. Administer health care <br />Yes <br />benefits and audit resulting contracts for accuracy of coverage, terms, and <br />conditions. <br />ii. Review and make <br />Yes <br />recommendations regarding (1) existing benefit plans and programs, (2) <br />modifications to the existing plan design, cost (rates), and cost shares, and <br />(3) potential benefit plans and programs including, but not limited to, self - <br />funding, HSA, and HRA options. <br />iii. Assist and advise the County in <br />Yes <br />contract negotiations with benefit plan providers on matters including, <br />but not limited to, premium rates, benefit levels, performance standards <br />and guarantees, contractual terms and conditions, quality assurance <br />standards, utilization and performance reports, statistical and /or financial <br />reports, and plan specific data such as medical conditions, prescription <br />drugs, high cost procedures, in- patient data, etc. <br />iv. Provide timely notification of <br />Yes <br />and assistance with understanding and implementing new, updated or <br />revised benefits, laws, regulations and programs including alerting the <br />County regarding any employee communication deadlines or <br />communication issues, and provide sample documents that may be used <br />to notify employees and /or retirees of any of these changes. <br />V.
