Wes; <br /> Please find attached the US Pipe DIP Design pamphlet which addresses the recommended pipe pressure class and laying <br /> conditions at various depths of cover. Please reference Pages 5, 15 and 23 where I've highlighted the appropriate <br /> Information for our condition on the McGowan Interceptor project. <br /> As recommended by the pipe manufacturer, 12"CL 350 can be Installed at depths up to 28' in Type 4 or 5 laying <br /> conditions. <br /> In lieu of the concrete cap,we therefore propose Installing the 12" CL350 DIP in the deeper sections(greater than 24') <br /> utilizing the Type 5 laying conditions criteria of bedding the pipe in compacted crushed stone 4" below the pipe and <br /> backfllling with compacted crushed stone to the top of the pipe. <br /> Please advise If this proposal is acceptable. <br /> Thanks, <br /> Eric Olsen <br /> Park Construction <br /> 919.369.2236 cell <br /> 2 <br />
