Fikes <br /> Resolution <br /> HUD-50071 <br /> Annual Contributions Contract TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an <br /> Annual Contributions Contract and Form 50071, Certification for Contracts, <br /> Loans and Cooperative Agreements for the Section 8 Housing Voucher <br /> Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The County's Housing and Community Development Department <br /> presently administers the Section 8 Existing Voucher Program for 101 <br /> families in Orange County. Authority to administer this program is <br /> provided through an agreement with HUD known as an Annual Contributions <br /> Contract (ACC) covering four different project allocations received by the <br /> County since program inception. The ACC also provides funding for the <br /> provision of housing assistance payments for eligible participants <br /> according to HUD regulations. <br /> One of our present projects consisting of 16 units expires on March 31, <br /> 1994. HUD has reserved contract authority in the amount of $103,538 to <br /> renew funding for these units until March 31, 1998. In order to accept <br /> this extended term, it is necessary to execute another ACC with HUD as <br /> well as HUD Form 50071 - Certification for Contracts, Grants, Loans and <br /> Cooperative Agreements. <br /> Summarily, the Orange County Housing and Community Development Department <br /> administers the Section 8 Existing Certificate Program for 403 families; <br /> the Existing Voucher Program for 101 families and the Section 8 Moderate <br /> Rehabilitation Program for approximately 97 families. Thus, approximately <br /> 601 families in Orange County may receive rent subsidies from this <br /> program. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> The Manager recommends: <br /> Adoption of the resolution authorizing the execution of an Annual <br /> Contributions Contract and Form 50071, Certification for Contracts, Loans <br /> and Cooperative Agreements for the Section 8 Housing Voucher Program. <br />
