<br />The Orange County Board of Commi asi oners met 1..ondey, July 28, 1952, et
<br />10 o'clock P.. Li., in the Commissioners' Room at the Courthouse in Hillsboro,
<br />the usual place of meeting.

<br />Upon motion of Commi ss9.oner Forrest end seconded by Chei rmen Cott, it
<br />was ordered that the County Ve term's Service Officer's salary be incrs esed
<br />from y200.00 to 5215.00 n_r month :vi th e travel ell oivence in eddit ion to
<br />the bass salary in the amount of 16.66 per month.
<br />itr. C. .5. Davis, Superintendent of the Cloenel Hill Schools> appeared and
<br />'.. discussed the possibility of e trans ier oi" certain revenue in the Chepel Hill
<br />School Admini stretive Unit's budget. P3na1 action on this wetter Ives post-
<br />poned to e later date.
<br />It rras moved by Commissioner Forrest and seconded by Cheirmr-.n Cobb that
<br />the annual fee ueid C1, i.i. Russ & Company for the riscel veer audit be raised
<br />from 51,000.00 to $1,250.00, effective for tha audit of the 1951-1952 records.
<br />This action rres epnroved unanimously by the members nr esent.
<br />Tdr. Z. C. Burton end e retire sontet ive of the Southern idapping and cnginz er
<br />ing Company, appeared and discussed the proposed revaluation of all reel prop-
<br />erty in the County with the 3oard.
<br />Upon motion of Commi ssionor Forrest, seconded by Ci±a irmen Cobb, with ell
<br />members present voting the affirmative, the folloning resolution levying taxes
<br />for the year 1952-1953 is edonted:

<br />In accordance eri th Chep ter 919 of the 199 Session Lams of Piorth Caroline,
<br />there shell also be e levy of S .20 per :9100.00 valuation on ell taxable
<br />property located ri thin the Chepel Hill Special School District :,i.th the pro-
<br />ceeds from this levy to be remitted to tho said District upon collection.
<br />In addition to the ebave levio s, the maximum amounts of taxes all orrod to
<br />be levied under Schedulo B of the Revenue Act of 1939, es amended, are hereby
<br />levied. The County Tex Collector is hereby authorized end ins tructed to collec
<br />the maximum taxes es nrovidod by said State Revenue 9ct.

<br />^_hat tho above epnronri ation to the Sal erg Fund of 560,105.00 is derived
<br />by using an unencumbered balance of :.6,117.27 and other revenues such as com-
<br />missions and fees to the amount of 535, X62.51 with en epproorieti on from the
<br />General County Fund of 58,625.22 which amount is ne ce ssery to raise the total
<br />needed for county salaries. This epproprieti on of 58,625.22 is hers by snoci-
<br />ficelly transferred from `he General Cqunt- Fund Rsvenue to the Salary Fund,
<br />and neid mount is in addition to the ;r83, 52.00 r:hich eppea*_^s in the above
<br />described Uudget under the head of General County rund.
