2 <br />Attachment A <br />Decision Pointsfor BOCC <br />Diverse pool of candidates <br />. <br /> <br />1. <br />DecisionPoint: <br />Does the Board want the Clerk’s office to use paid advertising(currently we use <br />PSAs)? <br />Filling all positions on a particular board or commission <br /> <br />2. <br />Currently there area minimal number of vacancies on our boards and <br />commissions; however, the larger the board, the more vacanciesthere may be. <br />There hasbeen some discussion that may beharder to fill vacancies that are <br />“specifically defined” such as At Large vs Cheeks Township or a particular <br />designation. <br />Decision Point: <br />Does the Board want leave as is the “special position requirements” or <br />consider alternatives? <br />Do boards and commissions need to vet applications prior to <br />3. <br />submission to BOCC? <br />Currently, with the exception of some boards (Planning, Board of Adjustment, <br />and even the OUTBOARD), most boards vet applicants and present <br />recommendations to the BOCC for consideration. <br /> <br />DecisionPoint: <br />Does the Board want to adopt aformalized process as relates to this <br />issue? <br />4.Service on multiple boards-–which currently allows service up to two <br />boards and task forces <br />? <br />According to the BOCC Adopted Advisory Board Policy (Adopted 2012), it states: <br /> <br />
