The project <br /> involved traffic capacity analysis and the development of a feasibility study for <br /> improvements to Elm-Eugene Street from Vandalia Road to proposed Elmsley Drive in <br /> Greensboro. This project included widening Elm-Eugene Street into a 4-lane divided <br /> facility with landscaped medians and sidewalks along both sides. Specific traffic <br /> engineering services included access management, intersection analysis, and accident <br /> analysis. An extensive public involvement process was also an integral part of this <br /> project's success. <br /> I <br /> Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Extension Traffic Operations and Feasibility Study, <br /> Winston-Salem, North Carolina(2002): Mr. Snow served as the project manager on the <br /> project. The project involved traffic capacity analysis and the preparation of a feasibility <br /> study for improvements to MLK Drive from Reynolds Park Road to 1-40 Business. MLK <br /> Drive, an existing 4-lane undivided facility, bisects the Winston-Salem State University <br /> campus. As a result of the WSSU Master Plan Update, which Neel-Schaffer, Inc. served <br /> as the transportation consultant, MLK Drive was recommended to be downgraded to a 2- <br /> lane divided facility with a landscaped median and parallel parking along each side. <br /> Decorative crosswalks,enhanced street lighting,wide sidewalks,and additional turn lanes <br /> at key intersections were key components of this important project. These changes <br /> enhance pedestrian safety and promote multimodal travel. Specific traffic engineering <br /> services provided include access management, coordinated signal progression study,and <br /> intersection analysis. <br /> Martin Luther King Drive Extension Feasibility Study, Winston Salem, NC (2008- <br /> 2012): Project Manager responsible for the feasibility study of examining the possibility of <br /> extending Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in the northern part of downtown Winston-Salem <br /> to provide a northern gateway to the downtown area. Issues that were evaluated included <br /> wetlands, hazardous waste, surface waters, protected species, cultural resources, and <br /> significant impact on existing properties in the South End Historic District. Functional <br /> designs were completed and a comprehensive public involvement process was <br /> undertaken. <br /> Matthews/Stallings Comprehensive Transportation Plan, Matthews/Stallings, NC <br /> i <br /> (2011-2012): Project Director for the development of a Comprehensive Transportation <br /> Plan for the Towns of Matthews and Stallings. This plan was prepared in response to the <br /> tremendous growth in the region and the expected future changes of the Monroe Bypass, <br /> which will dramatically affect the transportation system in these communities. <br /> 6 <br />
