Section Two was approved in Alamance County. The Planning Board reviewed and approved the Concept Plan for Section Three and Four The Village of the Oaks at its August 16, 1993 meeting. Agency comments were received from Emergency Management, Erosion Control, and Recreation and Parks. Applicable comments have been incorporated into the Resolution of Approval. The Planning Staff recommends approval of the Preliminary Plan for Section Three and Four The Village of the Oaks subject to the conditions contained in the Resolution of Approval. (A copy of the resolution is an attachment to these minutes on pages . ) The Board had asked a question regarding emergency services to the subdivision. Kirk indicated he had spoken with the Fire Marshall and he had said that Orange County would provide emergency services. However, at such a location, it is most likely that both Orange and Alamance would respond. Kirk also reminded the Board of the question asked when the concept plan was presented regarding which school system would serve the subdivision. He noted that the Orange County Board of Education had responded that residents could attend either Orange or Alamance County Schools. Anyone living within one mile of the county line can choose the school system which they prefer. Kirk continued that it is usually the case that children within a subdivision prefer to attend the same schools as their neighbors and friends.
