Fikes <br /> Results of Bid Opening Ext. 2490 <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To award two housing rehabilitation contracts for the HOME <br /> Housing Rehabilitation Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited <br /> bids from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors <br /> participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation <br /> Program. Sealed bids were received from six contractors on <br /> January 27, 1993 and opened on the same day. Bid results <br /> are attached. <br /> Present program procedures provide that housing <br /> rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder. However, the lowest bidder for Dwelling <br /> #21 has declined this job, therefore, the second lowest <br /> bidder, MDH Construction Co. is recommended for contract <br /> award. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> The Manager recommends awarding the following two rehabilitation <br /> contracts: <br /> Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br /> #20 $ 22,610 Taylor Home Imp <br /> #21 $ 20,465 MDH Construction <br />
