Southwest Orange Branch Library <br />A task force has presented recommendations regarding a branch library in the <br />southwestern portion of the County. Approximately $2.7 million has been included in <br />the 2008-2018 CIP to begin to implement the. recommendations as Commissioners <br />deem appropriate. <br />Justice Facilities, Farmers' Market and River Park <br />Project Summary: <br />• Approximately 40,000 square foot addition to the existing New Courthouse in <br />Hillsborough; <br />• Limited renovation of the existing building; <br />• Geothermal heating system <br />• Public Market House construction <br />• Passive recreation opportunities in River Park <br />Status to date: <br />Public Market House is complete. -First Market held March 1, 2008. <br />River Park trails are complete; <br />Justice Facilities expansion is approximately 40% complete. <br />Estimated completion date: <br />• Main construction to be completed early in 2009 <br />• Renovation work in existing Courthouse completed by June 30, 2009. <br />Link Government Services Center <br />Summary of Project: <br />• Space to be re-purposed for office space for County Manager, County <br />Commissioners, Financial Services and Human Resources offices following the opening <br />of the Gateway Center. <br />• County Commissioner meeting chambers proposed for this location. <br />Status to date: <br />• Programming meetings have begun between the architect and departments, with <br />an anticipated three-month completion period. <br />Estimated Completion Date: <br />• Second quarter 2009 <br />
