EXHIBIT 1 <br />1~RELIMINARY EXCLUSIONARY SITING CRITERIA <br />A. Site must be located within Orange County. <br />B. Wetlands and floodplains <br />C. Endangered and protected flora and fauna habitats <br />D. Protected sites of historical, archeological, or cultural sign~cance <br />E. Sites with majority of area having steep topographic slopes (>15%) <br />F. Park preserves <br />G. Site cannot be located in a critical watershed <br />H. Site must be located within 3 miles of US 15-501, NC 54, NC 86, US 70, NC 57, I-40, or I-85 <br />and within 10 miles ofthe projected waste generation centroid. <br />I. Sites (single parcel or combination of parcels) must be at least 25 acres unless transportation <br />access, existing buffers, and preliminary transfer station site layout demonstrate the adequacy <br />of a smaller site area. <br />
