Passmore, ext. 2009 <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 967-9251 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To authorize a resolution to apply for Federal <br /> Transit Act (FTA) , Section 18 capital and <br /> administrative funding as well as enter into an <br /> agreement with the North Carolina Department of <br /> Transportation for FY94-95. <br /> BACKGROUND: Orange County Commissioners approved on January <br /> 22, 1991 an updated Transportation Development <br /> Plan (TDP) . The approved plan makes the County <br /> eligible for federal and state funding of <br /> vehicles and equipment requested in the document <br /> over a four year period. In FY93-94, Orange <br /> County was eligible for the first time to receive <br /> administrative funds for the C.A.T. Progam. <br /> The FY94-95 annual Section 18 application is for <br /> $ 247,804 which includes $ 173,462 federal, <br /> $ "44,270 state and $ 30,072 local matching funds. <br /> The funds will purchase four vehicles- a standard <br /> van, a standard van conversion with lift, a 24 <br /> passenger bus with lift and 20 passenger van <br /> cutaway with lift. The vehicles will be used to <br /> replace existing C.A.T. equipment. In addition, <br /> Orange County's administrative funds will support <br /> the overall C.A.T. Program and continue to <br /> emphasize general public ridership. <br /> The application has been reviewed and approved by <br /> the Orange County Human Services Transportation <br /> Advisory Board on January 11, 1994. <br />
