Passmore <br /> Justification TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 967-9251 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Extension 2000 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To approve the amendment of the Transportation <br /> Development Plan for FY93-94 which would add two <br /> new expansion vehicles for the coordinated use by <br /> the Smart Start Program and to include the <br /> Partnership for Young Children as a C.A.T. <br /> Participating Agency. <br /> BACKGROUND: Orange County Commissioners approved on January <br /> 2211 1991 an updated Transportation Development <br /> Plan (TDP) . The approved plan makes the County <br /> eligible for federal and state funding of <br /> vehicles and equipment requested in the document <br /> over a four year period. With the addition of <br /> the Orange County Partnership for Young <br /> Children's Smart Start Program for FY93-94, <br /> this program would be eligible for federal and <br /> state funds to purchase needed vehicles and <br /> equipment. <br /> The FY93-94 capital assistance amendment request <br /> would be for $ 57,716 which includes $ 40,401.20 <br /> federal, $ 8,657.40 state and $ 8,657.40 local <br /> matching funds. The funds will purchase two <br /> vehicles- a standard van, a 20 passenger van <br /> cutaway and mobile radios. The vehicles will be <br /> used to coordinate child care enrichment field <br /> trips. The Orange County Partnership would <br /> provide the necessary local match funds. <br /> The TDP amendment has been reviewed & approved by <br /> the Orange County Human Services Transportation <br /> Advisory Board on January 11, 1994. <br />
