The funds are reflected under the <br /> City of Durham funding table; however, these funds will be <br /> redistributed among MPO agencies (in proportion to population) once <br /> it has been determined which agencies will collect the data. The <br /> redistribution will be done by an amendment to the UPWP. Receiving <br /> agencies will provide the required local matches for this effort. <br /> The City of Durham will receive $30,416 in FTA Section 8 planning <br /> funds, and the Chapel Hill Transit System will receive $26, 136. The <br /> NCDOT will provide $3 ,802 and $3 , 267 to the City of Durham and the <br /> Town of Chapel Hill, respectively, in matching State funds. FTA <br /> funds were divided among the MPO' s two transit operators, DATA and <br /> Chapel Hill Transit, consistent with' the State Section 8 <br /> distribution formula. The City of Durham will also apply for <br /> $124 , 096 (80%) in FTA Section 9 planning funds and $15, 512 (100) in <br /> matching NCDOT funds (excluding the special GA Section 9 funds for <br /> data collection) . The City of Durham will also use $48 , 800 in <br /> carryover Section 9 funds and $6, 100 in matching NCDOT funds (as <br /> reflected in the transit narrative) . Chapel Hill Transit will <br /> apply for $60,952 in Section 9 planning funds and $7, 619 in <br /> matching State funds. <br /> The NCDOT Statewide Planning Branch will use $60, 560 in Highway <br /> Planning and Research (HPR) funds to finance up to 80 percent of <br /> transportation planning tasks for the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro <br /> MPO. NCDOT will also perform data collection tasks for the <br /> regional model as described in the enclosed memo from Ed Johnson, <br /> Raleigh TCC member, to Lou Yates, Raleigh TCC Chairman. <br />
